Practice Makes Perfect

by B.X
"If I can't practice, I can't practice. It is as simple as that. It ain't about that at all. It's easy to sum it up if you're just talking about practice. We're sitting here, and I'm supposed to be the franchise player, and we're talking about practice. I mean listen, we're sitting here talking about practice, not a game, not a game, not a game, but we're talking about practice. Not the game that I go out there and die for and play every game last it's my last but we're talking about practice man. How silly is that?" Allen Iverson, 2002

Any crazy sports fan remembers this iconic moment from Allen Iverson on his view of how important practice is/was to him. Hey, maybe if he had taken it seriously, he would have retired with at least one NBA title.

Practice is everything. Its a time to learn, develop, and harness skills. The main stage, the moment of the truth, the game, the presentation, that is where you show off your skill, but practice, that is where you master and perfect your skills in order to show them in crunch time.

When I was young and playing soccer competitively, my coaches would fume at anyone who missed practice. He always told us "Guys, practice is and always will be more important than the game. You all want to play the game but how do you expect to play when you aren't learning it? Think about that for a second and realize why coming to practice is just as important as playing in games" At first I wasn't sure if he was crazy or something but as time went on, he was right. You work hard in practice, show your improvement, you get better at what you do. Practice is everything. You want to excel, whether its in sports, presentations, anything, practice makes perfect.

I've always believed that if you put in the work, the results will come. I don't do things half-hearted. because I know if I do, then I can expect half hearted results.
